  • Pre-departure test: Like green countries, take a test no earlier than 72 hours before starting your journey. Quick and easy with our 20-minute rapid test.

  • Post-arrival: Take a Qured PCR test on Day 2 and another on Day 8 after arrival. Available to book now as a package for £150.

  • Quarantine: 10 days, but you can opt for our Test to Release kit, a PCR test on Day 5, allowing you to exit quarantine early and get back to doing the things you love.

Pre-departure test: How it works

Taking a Covid test before returning to the UK is stressful. Don’t worry; you can take our quick and affordable test abroad with you. Best of all, you’ll have official results in just one hour.

  1. Book your test well in advance of your departure. We will send a kit that you can take with you for your return to the UK.

  2. We’ll send you a link to schedule a video call with our Health Advisor. Make sure you arrange the consultation in the correct time frame to have your test accepted.

  3. Follow the Health Advisor’s instructions on how to take the test and process your result. They’ll show you how to send your result to Qured.

  4. We’ll let you know as soon as your official result is available. Log in to your account to download your results and 'Return to the UK' certificate.

Day 2 and 8 testing: How it works

  1. Head to our booking portal and select ‘Day 2 and Day 8 testing’. Sign in, or, if you're new, register in just a few moments.

  2. Complete the 'UK entry form' for yourself and anyone else you're booking for. You'll need your arrival date and passport number(s) for this.

  3. Your first kit will be dispatched for arrival on or before Day 2 and your second on Day 8. Remember, your arrival date is Day 0!

  4. Follow the instructions to take your tests and return to the lab.

  5. Look out for your results; you should receive them within 24-48 hours of the lab checking in your test. Once you’ve completed your Day 8 test, you’ll be able to exit quarantine.

Don’t want to quarantine for ten days? Test to Release is the solution.

Choose our Test to Release kit. Take a PCR test on Day 5 of your self-isolation, and once you have a negative test result, you can exit quarantine early.

FAQs

Fit-to-Fly tests for departures from the UK

Most countries now require proof of a negative Covid-19 test for entry.  Please check your destination country requirements for the type of test required and the time window during which you need to take it before departure:

  • PCR: Negative PCR tests are widely accepted. After checking your destination country's requirements, use our travel calculator to determine when you should order your test.

  • Antigen Test: A number of other countries also accept a negative Covid-19 rapid antigen test for entry. These lateral flow tests (LFDs) are faster and less expensive than PCR tests.  If you have confirmed that your destination country accepts LFDs, book your test delivery and video consultation in the required time window before travelling.

All countries: Pre-departure testing for arrivals to the UK

Wherever you’re travelling from, you must take a Covid-19 test before starting your journey to the UK. Order your test kit before you travel, and we will ship it to you in the UK so that you can take it abroad with you. We are not able to ship the test kit to you abroad.

We’ll send you a link to schedule your video consultation with a Qured Health Advisor. You should book your video call as early as possible and before your travel to the UK  to ensure that you get the slot you want, but make sure the call is scheduled no earlier than 72 hours before starting your journey.

Green country Day 2 testing for arrivals to the UK

In addition to the pre-departure test, arrivals to the UK from green listed countries must take a PCR test on or before Day 2 after their arrival. There is no need to quarantine unless you test positive.

Order your test before you travel to the UK, as you will need to present proof of this booking on your passenger locator form before you depart to the UK and also on entry. Your arrival date is Day 0.

Amber country Day 2 testing for arrivals to the UK

In addition to the pre-departure test, arrivals to the UK from amber listed countries are required to quarantine for 10 days and take PCR tests on or before Day 2 and on or after Day 8 of arrival. These tests must be purchased as a bundle, even if you opt for Test to Release.

Order your tests before you travel to the UK, as you will need to present proof of this booking on your passenger locator form before you depart to the UK and also on entry. Your arrival date is Day 0.

Test to Release - optional Day 5 test

If you’re arriving from an amber listed country, you can opt into the Test to Release scheme to cut your 10-day quarantine. You will need to take a PCR test 5 full days after your arrival and, on receiving a negative result, you will be able to leave self-isolation early.

You should order it before you start your return journey to the UK as you'll need to enter the test information on your passenger locator form. If you decide to take part in the scheme after you have arrived, you will need to complete another passenger locator form. Your arrival date is Day 0. Even if you opt into Test to Release, you’ll still need to take your Day 8 test.
