Test to Release
You can cut your time in quarantine with Test to Release by taking a PCR test on day 5 of your self-isolation. As long as the result is negative, you can exit self-isolation early and you will get your results in just 24 hours from your sample arriving at the lab. You'll still need to take a test on day 8 and self-isolate if it is then positive. Qured is a government-approved provider.
You must have proof of a negative coronavirus test to travel to England – this includes UK citizens. You must take the test within the 3 days prior to departing on the transport on which you will arrive in England. On arrival, you must travel directly to the place you’re staying and not leave until 10 days have passed, unless you opt for Test to Release. You will need to take a Covid-19 PCR test on or before day 2 of your quarantine period. The day of arrival in England will be treated as day 0. You need to take another test on or after day 8, unless you received a positive result from your day 2 test. After 10 days, you can exit quarantine.
If you receive a positive result from your day 2 test, you must quarantine for 10 days beginning the day after the test was taken (this means until day 13). Your household will also need to quarantine until day 13. If you receive a positive result from your day 2 test, you will not be required to take any further tests.
If you receive a positive test result from your day 8 test you will be required to quarantine until day 19. Your household will also need to quarantine until day 19.
You'll need to self-isolate for 10 days after arrival no matter where you are travelling from. You are also required to take a Covid-19 test on day 2 and day 8. With Test to Release, you can cut your time in quarantine by taking a PCR test on day 5 of your self-isolation. As long as the result is negative, you can exit self-isolation early. However, you'll still need to take a third test on day 8 and self-isolate if this test is positive.
Yes. Qured’s lateral flow device test meets the requirements for pre-departure testing. However, you cannot use this test for day 2 and day 8 testing. Government advice states that the test must meet performance standards of ≥97% specificity, ≥80% sensitivity at viral loads above 100,000 copies/ml. For day 2 and 8 testing, choose Qured’s PCR test, which requires you to return the sample to the lab for processing.
The manufacturers of the tests used by Qured states that these tests have a sensitivity, or true positive rate, of at least 96.4% and a specificity, or true negative rate, of at least 99.5%, when compared to gold standard PCR tests. The tests have also passed evaluation conducted by Public Health England, which concluded that specificity of >99.7% is maintained when detecting infectious patients carrying higher viral loads. According to government guidance, lateral flow testing is useful for finding out if a person is currently infectious and able to transmit the virus to others. The level of sensitivity is high enough to detect most cases. Lateral flow testing is less likely to return a positive result outside the infectious window.
Our tests are CE marked and registered with the MHRA.
We’ve made taking an at-home lateral flow test safe, easy and reliable. You can order your test online and choose from a variety of delivery options. Once your kit has arrived, you’ll need to schedule a remote video call with one of our health advisors. On the day of your test, you’ll be given a link to join a virtual waiting room. The health advisor will start your call around your scheduled time, so please have your test kit ready. During the call, they will guide you through taking a valid swab sample and processing your result. 20 minutes after adding the sample to the lateral flow device, you need to take a clear picture of your result next to a photo ID and send it to email@example.com. You’ll receive your verified result within an hour.
Yes. In line with government guidelines, you must take a test in the 3 days before the transport on which you will arrive in England departs.
PCR swab kits do not have an expiry date. If we have shipped your kit and your travel plans change, you can always use it at a later date. Before sending it in, you can check with our team at firstname.lastname@example.org whether there have been any changes to the process. Lateral flow device kits have a use-by date which is printed on the cartridge wrapper, so please ensure that you use it before this date.
