Attract & retain talent
Attract the right talent and improve retention by offering health benefits that resonate with your workforce
The challenge of attracting the best candidates to your organisation and providing an employee offering that makes your best people want to stay is universal.
Preventative screening is now one of the most requested new health benefits for all generations in the workforce, according to research from Mercer. Offering comprehensive preventative health checks as part of your benefits package makes your organisation more attractive to prospective employees. It will also help with retaining current staff by demonstrating that you genuinely care about their health and wellbeing, fostering loyalty and improving satisfaction.

The problem
Sessions is a food tech business. They operate a number of food halls in the UK, providing a rotating residency for talented chefs and easy access to great food. Their workforce skews young, and retaining talent is a challenge. We spoke to Kelly Davis, Head of People, about why Sessions was looking for a new health benefit and how they found a solution with Qured.
In 2022, Sessions ran an anonymous employee-wide engagement survey, and the results came back to show that the majority of people had requested improved healthcare benefits. The Sessions team were quick to act on this employee feedback and began looking into the different ways they could support their people with their health and wellbeing.
When exploring the options available to them, Kelly and the team knew they wanted a solution that would help them do the following:
- Attract and retain a young workforce
- Keep their people healthy and well
- Demonstrate that they’ve listened to employees and care about their wellbeing
Private medical insurance (PMI) was ruled out on the basis that it wouldn’t resonate with their young workforce. There were also concerns regarding the costly tax implications and reactive nature of PMI. They felt it would only be helpful once an employee actually had symptoms and was already sick.
Rather than launching a benefit that only helps employees when they get sick, they decided they wanted a benefit that could be used by the whole workforce to stay healthy and well.
The solution
Implement a comprehensive early health screening programme with Qured
Qured was able to tick all of the boxes as a provider that offered:
- Convenient, modern health screening via an app and at-home testing
- Advice and support from Qured’s expert doctors and clinicians
- The ability to build a bespoke package of tests for each employee based on clinical data, family medical history, personal risk factors, and demographic information
- An easy-to-launch solution with minimal administrative burden for Sessions
We’re proud to be working with the Sessions team to provide preventative health screening to their employees.
